October letter to my children

Welcome to the October edition of Letters to my Children. Be sure to check out more letters in my circle by following this link http://www.terricollinsphotography.com/letters-to-our…

Dear  Deegan,

This month , you had an assignment where you brought home “Teddy” the class teddy bear and then you had to write about your weekend with him. We decided to take advantage of the beautiful fall colored trees and did a little photo shoot with him to add to the assignment. I really love the colors we found and I wish the trees would stay that way longer than just a couple of weeks.

In contrast to  your teddy bear hugging photo shoot the other day at dinner you  announced that you didn’t think Santa was real anymore and that you were sure it was  dad. I don’t know if  Drayce still believed or if you guys had discussed it before but it made me sad because you are only six and I figured you still had a few years of believing to go. The positive side to it is I don’t have to be so careful about what I say around you guys because I have definitely slipped up a few times and tried to correct it and hope you didn’t realize.

You boys also did a little fishing with your dad and I always love to use that as a good photo opportunity.

Aww…what a sad day to discover your child no longer believes Santa is real. My oldest (who is almost 8) told me not long ago that she believes Santa is real because she feels the magic inside her. And she believes that her feeling is real. So as long as she can feel the magic of Christmas in her heart, then Santa is real. Such a grown up approach. But it makes me a little sad know she’s growing up. Also, I love the pictures with the teddy bear. He seems so young and innocent. Such a contrast to the Santa statement. They grow up so fast, don’t they?

I love it, so wonderful to watch my beautiful Grandsons growing up before my eyes

You always capture such soulful images! I love these! Those eyes! How do you ever say no to these boys?! lol! I would just melt!
